I’m not a fitness junkie. In fact, I’ve struggled to find my fitness footing for most of my adult life. I originally tried SRC CORE & FUEL because entrepreneurship is hard, and I wanted to support launching SRC into the world.
But after actually using the products, I think there is something worth understanding about SRC, particularly CORE.
CORE isn’t really a hydration drink. I think of it more as a supplement routine in a drink packet. If you look at the price and compare it only with electrolyte products like LMNT or Liquid I.V., you may experience some sticker shock. That was certainly my first reaction.
But purchasing CORE makes more sense when you consider what you might otherwise be buying separately for your supplement cabinet. A serving includes creatine, NMN, CoQ10, PQQ, quercetin, L-theanine, magnesium, vitamin C, zinc, potassium, and sodium. At that point, the relevant question becomes less, “Why does this hydration packet cost so much?” and more, “What am I already spending—or willing to spend—each month on supplements?”
That’s an important distinction.
I’m not a health nut. I’m simply trying to become healthier and make better choices consistently. I’ve tried some of the other brands and have—literally—thrown them out because I didn’t like how they made me feel when consumed on an empty stomach (particularly Liquid I.V.).
I haven’t had any issues with SRC. In fact, I really enjoy drinking it. The Blood Orange CORE is particularly tasty. And while the zero added sugar is a bit of an adjustment, it is actually helping me with my effort to reduce my added sugar intake -- speaking as someone with a *serious* sweet tooth.
I’m too early in my use of SRC to make sweeping claims about long-term health benefits. I may come back and upgrade my review after I have a few months of use under my belt.
What I can say now is much simpler: SRC makes one part of trying to live healthier remarkably easy.
I mix a packet with 32 oz. of water instead of the recommended 16 oz., which gives me a lighter flavor. It tastes good, there’s no added sugar, and I’ve knocked out several supplements at once.
It’s not inexpensive. But if you have the means and you’re already spending money on supplements (or trying to simplify your health routine), I think CORE is worth considering.
For me, the convenience, taste, and simplicity have made the price worth it.
(Full disclosure: I haven't sweated enough to fully review FUEL!)
